Madhya Pradesh is a state in central India that since ancient times has been a hub of trade routes across the Indian subcontinent. The state hosts some of India's most notable ancient and medieval sites. The earliest of these are prehistoric sites such as the Rock Shelters of Bhimbetka dated to the Mesolithic period.
The state also has Maurya era sites from about the 3rd century BCE, and many more dynasties through the 13th-century. Of these, one of the largest collection of beautifully carved Gupta Empire era temples and artwork is found in Madhya Pradesh. The state also has temples that were built after the 15th-century through the 18th-century.
The state preserves some rare archaeological sites. It has the oldest known architectural sketch and drawings of a Hindu temple on stone surface. It is also home to some important early Jain and Buddhist monuments. Many of the historic Buddhist, Hindu and Jain sites show signs of natural erosion, as well as show evidence of deliberate mutilation and vandalism.
The map above shows the location of a curated list of over 200 major historic heritage sites in Madhya Pradesh. The GPS data is based on actual field survey and visits since 2017. These sites are listed below. This list is not exhaustive.

Painting of the interior of a Sikh temple (gurdwara), Punjab, ca.1875 (published in 'Piety and Splendour: Sikh Heritage in Art', 2000). Original painting kept in the collection of the Himachal State Museum, India.

Full painting: [1]
Painting of the interior of a Sikh temple (gurdwara), Punjab, ca.1875. Acc. no. - 86.59. According to Manreet D., this painting is reminiscent of the works of Shahrukh Beg’s, who did a few pieces for the Raja of Nabha in the mid-19th century. There is an inscription on the bottom of the painting written in Perso-Arabic script. It actually resembles the interior of Darbar Sahib, judging by the ceiling and gallery. The doors and arches match with the interior of Darbar Sahib. However, many gurdwaras built around that time had the same design based upon the Darbar Sahib, some examples are Gurdwara Sri Darbar Sahib Taran Taran, Gurdwara Bhai Banno, Gurdwara Janam Asthan Chunna Mandi, & Gurdwara Chowa Sahib. Some believe this is the Golden Temple before the railings were installed, however Darbar Sahib's interior is much more compact than this, plus these extra doors seen in the painting are not present at Darbar Sahib.
Published in: 'Piety and Splendour: Sikh Heritage in Art' (2000, National Museum, Delhi) by B. N. Goswamy (used as cover-artwork)
Caption: "Cover illustration; Inside a Sacred Place (possibly, interior of Golden Temple), opaque water colour on paper, Punjab, ca. 1875."
Possible identifications of the gurdwara (ideas taken from [2]; [3]; [4]):
1) Darbar Sahib/Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple), Amritsar, Punjab. As per B. N. Goswamy, this is likely a depiction of the interior of the holiest Sikh shrine, Darbar Sahib. It appears the railings seen in the present-day structure were not installed yet when this painting was created.
2) Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib, Delhi. It strongly resembles the interior layout and architecture of Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib [alt. spelt as 'Sees Ganj'] in Delhi. However, that gurdwara was heavily renovated in the 20th century and it is unknown how much of its original layout/architecture was preserved, thus comparing the gurdwara in this painting to the current Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib is difficult.
3) Gurdwara Fatehgarh Sahib, Punjab. However, this is comparing with the modern Gurdwara Fatehgarh Sahib, which had been heavily renovated in the 20th century.
4) Akal Takht, Amritsar
5) Gurdwara Shish/Sheesh Ganj Sahib
6) State Gurdwara, Kapurthala
7) Gurdwara Janam Asthan Guru Ram Das Ji, Choona Mandi/Chuna Mandi, Lahore - This gurdwara has its design based on the Darbar Sahib/Harmandir Sahib in Amritsar.
8) Gurdwara Janam Asthan Bebe Nanaki, Dera Chahal, Lahore - This gurdwara has its design based on the Darbar Sahib/Harmandir Sahib in Amritsar.
9) Gurdwara Bhai Banno/Bannu, Mangat, Mandi Bahauddin - This gurdwara has its design based on the Darbar Sahib/Harmandir Sahib in Amritsar.
10) Somewhere in the Lahore Fort (unlikely)
11) Gurdwara Bangla Sahib

12) Gurdwara Sri Darbar Sahib, Tarn Taran - interior is similar but the Palki doesn't look resemble the painting.
